How an artificial intelligence chatbot turned every saleswoman at La Cosmetiqueria into a personal care expert

Hundreds of products, thousands of combinations, and a saleswoman who just started
La Cosmetiqueria is a 100% Mexican company that creates and commercializes personal care products made with natural extracts. Their stores are different from any other: the customer arrives, describes their skin or hair problem, and the saleswoman recommends a personalized combination of creams, serums, exfoliants, shampoos, or masks — all sold in bulk, which allows testing small quantities and personalizing the mixes. It is a business model based on expert advice.
And therein lies the problem. The catalog of La Cosmetiqueria is huge. Each product has specific ingredients, different benefits, compatibilities with other products, and ways of use that vary according to the customer's skin type. For franchise saleswomen, learning all of this is a constant challenge. It is not about memorizing a price list — it is about understanding what product works for what problem, what mixes can be combined, and in what order to apply them to build a routine that really works.
When a customer arrives with a specific problem — sensitive skin with spots and an oily tendency, for example — the saleswoman needs to mentally cross-reference dozens of variables in real time. And if she does not have the answer or gives a generic recommendation, the experience is lost. The customer does not feel that she was given a personalized solution, and probably does not return.
In a franchise model, this challenge multiplies: there is staff turnover, new saleswomen who are learning, branches in different cities, and the need for the quality of advice to be consistent across all of them. You cannot depend on each saleswoman being 100% trained before being able to serve a customer well.
An assistant that knows each product better than any human could
La Cosmetiqueria sought us out with a clear objective: to create a solution with artificial intelligence that would help their saleswomen give better recommendations, without replacing them. They wanted any saleswoman, from her first day at work, to be able to answer specific queries with the same precision as someone with years of experience.
At Corvuz, we designed and built an intelligent chatbot that lives directly inside the system that the franchises already use. The saleswoman does not have to open another app or change screens — from her usual work tool, she describes the customer's problem and the chatbot does the rest.
But this is not a generic chatbot that responds with information from the internet. We fed it with the entire catalog of La Cosmetiqueria using embeddings — an artificial intelligence technique that converts the information of each product (ingredients, benefits, compatibilities, mode of use) into data that the model can consult and cross-reference in milliseconds. When the saleswoman types “routine for oily skin with acne,” the chatbot does not invent: it searches the real catalog, considers what the branch has available, and builds a coherent routine with specific products.
And we went further. La Cosmetiqueria has in some branches a facial analysis machine that automatically detects customer skin problems: spots, expression lines, open pores, hydration level. We connected the chatbot to this service, so that the results of the diagnosis enter directly into the conversation and the assistant generates a routine based on objective data, not just on what the customer describes.
More than a chat: a complete sales tool
The chatbot not only recommends — it also facilitates the sale. From the same conversation, the saleswoman can add the recommended products directly to the system's cart. There is no extra step of searching for the product manually in the inventory: the chatbot suggests it, the saleswoman adds it with a click.
When the customer wants to take the documented routine with them, the chatbot generates a professional PDF with all the steps, products, and recommendations for use. A document that the customer takes home, can consult whenever they want, and that reinforces the confidence that the recommendation was thought out specifically for her. That PDF is also a piece of silent marketing: every time the customer reviews it, she remembers La Cosmetiqueria.
Leveling up the knowledge of an entire team
The chatbot is currently in pilot in selected branches of La Cosmetiqueria, and the first results confirm what we were looking for: the saleswomen give better recommendations, attend to more specific queries with confidence, and the time that was previously lost in not knowing what to recommend is now transformed into a sale with personalized advice.
For a franchise model, this is transformative. It no longer matters if the saleswoman has been with the company for a day or a year — she has access to the same expert knowledge. Training remains important, but it stops being the bottleneck that slows down the quality of service. The chatbot did not replace the saleswomen of La Cosmetiqueria. It turned them all into the best saleswoman on the team.
